| Obverse description | Facing enthroned effigy of King Enrique IV of Castile and León, shown seated frontally on a Gothic throne, crowned and robed in royal vestments, holding a sword upright in his right hand and an orb in his left. Flanking the throne are heraldic eagles with spread wings, rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of Castilian hammered gold coinage. The central design is set within a multi-lobed or lobular inner border, with the Latin legend ENRICVS : QUART running along the outer periphery of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Quartered coat of arms of Castile and León, divided by a bold cross into four quarters, with the castle of Castile (a triple-towered fortress) and the lion rampant of León alternating in opposite quadrants, rendered in high relief in the hammered Gothic tradition. A small mintmark or initial mark appears within the quarters, consistent with the Segovia mint. The arms are enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin devotional legend running around the outer border of the coin. |
