Obverse description Draped bust of Louis XV facing left, with elaborate curled wig, truncation visible at base. The Latin legend encircles the effigy reading LUD. XV. D. G. FR. ET NAV. REX. B. D., abbreviated for Ludovicus XV Dei Gratia Franciae et Navarrae Rex. A small mint mark appears at the base of the truncation below the portrait.
