| Obverse description | Draped bust of Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a jewelled coronet, wearing a pearl necklace and lace-trimmed décolleté garment. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the French baroque manner, with flowing curled locks falling to the shoulders. The circumferential Latin legend is separated from the inner field by a beaded border. |

| Additional information |
Anna Maria Louise d'Orléans — the Grande Mademoiselle, Louis XIV's first cousin — ruled Dombes as sovereign princess from 1650 until she ceded the principality to the duc du Maine in 1681. That cession, widely understood as a bid to legitimize her late-life attachment to the comte de Lauzun, effectively ended independent coinage from the territory. These half-écus, struck across a four-year window, belong to a reign defined more by Versailles court intrigue than by governance of a small enclave north of Lyon.
The "1st type" designation distinguishes the DNS ADIVTOR legend arrangement from her later issues — a subtle die modification, not a recoinage event.
