| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the crowned coat of arms of the Province of Gelderland at centre, a quartered or bipartite shield bearing two rampant lions facing one another, surmounted by an elaborate arched crown with foliate and beaded ornament. The Latin legend 'IN DEO SP . NOS', an abbreviated form of 'In Deo Spes Nostra' (In God is our Hope), encircles the shield, divided by the arms to either side. The overall composition is bold and heraldic, consistent with the provincial coinage tradition of the Dutch Republic. |
