Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Gelderland, featuring a rampant lion within a baroque shield surmounted by a provincial crown. The heraldic composition is rendered in low relief typical of late 18th-century VOC coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the device, reading IN DEO EST SPES NOSTRA, running along the inner border of the coin.

Reverse description The reverse bears the interlaced VOC monogram — the cipher of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie — rendered in bold, stylised letters at centre field. Three small six-pointed stars are arranged above the monogram in a triangular formation. The date appears in the lower field beneath the monogram, serving as the primary dating element on the coin.
