The powerful equestrian figure, which gave rise to the popular name 'Zilveren Rijder' (Silver Rider), is rendered in the vigorous Baroque style characteristic of Dutch provincial coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. The surrounding legend runs along the outer rim between the inner and outer circles. |
