Obverse description The obverse features an armored knight on horseback prancing to the right, brandishing an unsheathed sword aloft in his right hand in a dynamic martial pose. The horse is depicted in a rearing position with elaborate baroque detailing on its mane and trappings. Beneath the horse, in the lower field, appears the crowned arms of Utrecht — a quartered shield bearing the provincial heraldic devices. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO : NO : ARG : CON FOE : BELG : PRO : TRAI., referencing the new silver coinage of the United Belgian Provinces for Utrecht, separated by pellet stops and running along the full periphery of the coin.
