The date 1716 appears in the upper field above the wolf's head. The circumferential legend DE RABATTA EX COMITIB. runs around the periphery, separated by stops, within a milled border. The composition is boldly executed in the baroque manner typical of south German ecclesiastical mint work of the early eighteenth century. |
