Aanvullende informatie

New Year's klippe patterns of this type were produced by Stuttgart's municipal mint as presentation pieces — distributed among city officials and favored recipients as ceremonial gifts rather than circulated currency. The square flan format was deliberate, distinguishing these pieces from ordinary coinage and signaling their status as collectibles from the moment of striking.

Ebner 23 is among the scarcer documented examples of Stuttgart's 18th-century civic presentation series. The silver weight — well below a standard half ducat in gold equivalent — reflects the pattern's symbolic rather than intrinsic value.
