Reverse description At center, an oval cartouche contains the crowned rampant lion of Norway, depicted in high relief holding a halberd, set against a plain field. A large open royal crown surmounts the oval cartouche, its arches decorated with foliate motifs and orb finial. Two small arrow-shaped mint marks or privy marks flank the cartouche on either side in the field. The circular Latin legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT, meaning The Lord will provide, runs around the periphery within a toothed milled border.
