Obverse description Central design features the elaborate archiepiscopal coat of arms of Franz Anton von Harrach, surmounted by a galero with pendant tassels on either side and a patriarchal cross above, all within a beaded border. The shield is quartered and displays the heraldic charges of both the see of Salzburg and the Harrach family. The denomination mark '1/2' appears on a small escutcheon at the base of the composition. The circular Latin legend surrounding the arms reads FRANC ANTO D G ARCHI PR SAL S A L, identifying the issuer as Archbishop Franz Anton by the grace of God. The overall engraving style is characteristic of early eighteenth-century South German ecclesiastical coinage.
