Obverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in a trefoil formation, each set within an ornate cartouche: the upper shield bearing the Nuremberg eagle displayed, the lower-left featuring a second eagle, and the lower-right displaying a diagonally divided field with a bend. The shields are framed by decorative foliate scrollwork. The mint-master's initials GFN appear in the lower exergue. The circular legend MONETA NOVA REIP NORIMBERGENSIS runs along the outer border, separated by pellets.
