The heraldic composition is boldly executed in high relief typical of Swiss Baroque hammered gold coinage. The circular Latin legend runs along the entire periphery, separated by pellet stops. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Five lines of abbreviated Latin legend reading MONETA NOVA REIPUBLICAE TIGURINAE with the date 1666 at the base, all contained within an ornate Baroque cartouche formed by elaborate foliate scrollwork. The cartouche is centrally placed in the field with the date displayed below the main text panel at the foot of the decorative surround. The composition is typical of seventeenth-century Swiss republican coinage, with the text fully occupying the interior of the cartouche in a disciplined, stacked arrangement. |
