Reverse description The royal coat of arms of Greece at center, consisting of a quartered shield bearing a Greek cross on a striped field, surmounted by a royal crown topped with a cross, rendered in fine relief. The shield is flanked symmetrically by two leafy olive branches tied at the base, their boughs curving outward to fill the field. Below the arms, a horizontal line separates the central device from the denomination and date, inscribed in two lines as 1/2 ΔΡΑΧΜΗ and 1855. The coin is bordered by a continuous ring of beading.
