Obverse description Haloed figure of Saint Peter seated facing left in three-quarter view, draped and nimbed, raising his right hand in blessing while holding the keys of the Church in his left hand; the papal tiara and crossed keys emblem appear below, serving as a heraldic device in the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend APOSTOLOR PRINCEPS (Prince of the Apostles) runs along the outer border, all within a toothed or milled inner circle. The composition reflects the bold Baroque engraving style characteristic of late eighteenth-century Roman papal coinage.
