Obverse description A large American bald eagle, displayed facing left, is superimposed at center upon a large five-pointed star, the emblem of the State of Texas. The eagle clutches an oak branch in its talons, beneath which the issue year appears in the exergue. The national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in the right field, while E PLURIBUS UNUM appears in the left field.
