| Obverse description | Gold-plated right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in high relief against a darkened field. The portrait, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley and signed IRB below the truncation, is executed in a highly detailed sculptural style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim, SOLOMON ISLANDS along the upper rim, and HALF DOLLAR along the right rim, all in raised Latin characters. The date 2022 appears in the lower field, flanked by two raised dots, completing the circumferential inscription. |
