| Reverse description | A full-color reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated mural The Last Supper (c. 1495–1498) covers the entire rectangular reverse field. Jesus Christ is depicted at the center of the composition, seated at a long banquet table draped in white cloth, his arms outstretched and his gaze directed downward. The twelve apostles are arranged in four groups of three on either side of him, their animated gestures and vivid polychrome robes rendered in faithful detail. Three windows open behind the central figures, admitting a luminous landscape background, while the coffered ceiling of the refectory recedes in perspective above. The high-definition color printing captures the tonal nuances and aged surface of the original fresco. |
