Additional information

This micro-silver issue is part of a wave of small-format .999 silver fractions produced for the collector market in the 2010s, often licensed through European minting intermediaries and attributed to Pacific island sovereigns with little or no domestic minting infrastructure of their own. The Solomon Islands arrangement is typical of these programs — the issuing authority lends its name, the coins are legal tender in nominal terms, and distribution runs entirely through the numismatic trade.

The Saint Petersburg designation points to production at the Saint Petersburg Mint (Monetny Dvor), Russia's oldest operating mint, founded by Peter the Great in 1724.
