The Solomon Islands has issued commemorative coinage under Royal Mint and various private mint contracts since independence in 1978, with the half dollar denomination used almost exclusively for the collector market rather than circulation. This 2022 piece bearing the Elizabeth II Logo design was produced in the final months before the Queen's death on 8 September 2022, meaning the entire production run predates the formal end of her 70-year reign by a matter of weeks or months.
