| Additional information |
One of a series of small-format silver fractionals issued by the Solomon Islands under licensing arrangements common to the modern bullion collectibles market, where sovereign issuing rights are leased to private minting operations. The Barcelona connection almost certainly references the 1992 Summer Olympics, a frequent subject in this genre of themed issues. Solomon Islands itself has no historical tie to Barcelona or Spain.
