| Obverse description | The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and draped, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend SOLOMON ISLANDS is inscribed along the curved upper border, flanked on both sides by decorative Greek key motifs. The denomination HALF DOLLAR is displayed in raised lettering to either side of the portrait, and the date 2020 appears along the lower border, also flanked by Greek key ornamental bands. The annular sector shape of the flan gives the composition a distinctive architectural framing. |
