Radiating sunrays and a stylized cloud formation appear above the church in the upper field, lending the composition a ceremonial, commemorative character. The surrounding legend reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA with IN GOD WE TRUST and the denomination HALF DOLLAR, while the date 1936 appears in the lower field.
