| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-colour photographic reproduction of the iconic 'V-J Day in Times Square' image depicting a United States Navy sailor in dress uniform dipping and kissing a woman dressed in white, set against a colourised background of Times Square, New York City, with period storefronts and crowds visible. An American flag banner with stars and stripes sweeps across the lower portion of the field. A border of raised dots frames the inner design, and five-pointed stars punctuate the upper legend '⋆ VJ ⋆ DAY ⋆ 80 ⋆', commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day. The gold-plated rim frames the vivid polychrome central scene. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The "Times Square kiss" photograph, taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt on V-J Day in August 1945, has been reproduced on commemorative issues by multiple mints over the past two decades. The Solomon Islands licensing arrangement allows the issuer to place the image on low-cost iron blanks with gold plating — a format aimed squarely at the novelty collector market rather than any serious numismatic audience. Charles III's appearance on the obverse reflects the Solomon Islands' status as a Commonwealth realm following his accession in September 2022.
