The uppermost line reads 'Sikkat Hamisihi' (the coinage of Hasan), the middle line reads 'Duriba fi Paris' (struck in Paris), and the lowest line bears the Hijri date 1298. The legends are rendered in a bold, formal Arabic script, and the entire design is encircled by a milled border consistent with the obverse.
