Turanshah II ruled Qalhat during a period when the port city functioned as the dominant entrepôt for Gulf and Indian Ocean trade, channeling Persian, Indian, and East African commerce through Omani waters. The Emirate's gold fractional issues are exceptionally rare in any condition — production volumes were almost certainly limited, and the coins moved through high-value mercantile transactions rather than everyday exchange, meaning survivorship correlates poorly with original mintage.
Album 1942 is sparsely documented, and specimens attributable to Turanshah II specifically remain poorly represented in major collections.
