| Obverse description | Hammered gold flan bearing multiple horizontal lines of Arabic script in a bold, somewhat crude calligraphic style characteristic of Gulf regional coinage of the 15th century. The legends are struck across the irregular flan in several registers, with the text filling the field. The strike is slightly off-center, resulting in partially visible inscriptions near the periphery. The surface shows the typical rough texture of hammered gold coinage of this period and region. |
