Obverse description Central field features a stylized eagle or imperial emblem enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. The design is characteristic of medieval Italian hammered coinage, rendered in low relief with irregular flan edges. A circular legend runs between the inner and outer borders, reading INPERATOR F.D.R.C., referencing the imperial authority. The overall style reflects the crude but expressive die-cutting typical of 12th–14th century northern Italian civic and feudal issues.
