Reverse description A detailed depiction of the city gate and towers of Riga occupies the central field, showing a prominent multi-towered fortified gateway with an arched entrance, flanked by two tall towers surmounted by onion-shaped domes — a heraldic representation of the city's coat of arms. Below the gate, a small crowned lion passant is visible as part of the civic arms. The date is divided on either side of the central design, and the mintmaster's initials M-W appear within the legend. A circular Latin inscription surrounds the entire design, identifying this as a new silver coin of the City of Riga.
