Reverse description A detailed view of the Riga city gate and fortifications, depicted as a twin-towered gateway with a central arch and battlemented walls rendered in fine engraving. A royal crown surmounts the gate above the central opening. The date 1668 is divided across the field to either side of the gate, and the mint master's initials I·M appear in the lower portion of the field. The entire design is encircled by a beaded border and the full circumferential legend.
