Obverse description Central Burgundian cross with elaborate firesteel and flint ornaments radiating from the intersection, dividing the four-digit date in the quarters of the field. The cross arms terminate in decorative floral finials. A mint mark appears at the top of the field above the cross. The peripheral legend in Latin encircles the design, separated from the central motif by an inner beaded border.
