The shield is flanked by elaborate decorative foliate or scroll ornaments typical of Spanish Netherlands heraldic coinage. The circumferential Latin legend • DOMINVS • MIHI • ADIVTOR • ✿ • encircles the design, with a rosette mintmark for the Dordrecht mint. The reverse is struck on an irregular flan consistent with the hammered technique of the period. |
