| Reverse description | Central field bears the quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy, composed of the ancient Habsburg and Burgundian dynastic quarters, surmounted by a royal crown rendered in high relief. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, whose linked fire-steels and flints are depicted in detail, with the pendant fleece visible at the base. The heraldic composition is contained within the inner field, with the Latin legend arranged in a continuous circle in the outer border, separated by crosses pattée as word dividers. The overall style is consistent with mid-sixteenth-century Netherlandish hammered coinage of the Habsburg period. |
