| Beschrijving keerzijde | Crowned quartered shield of the Royal Arms at centre, bearing the arms of England (three passant guardant lions) in the first and fourth quarters, Scotland (lion rampant) in the second quarter, Ireland (harp) in the third quarter, with no Hanoverian escutcheon as the Salic Law had ended that succession in 1837. The shield is surmounted by an ornate imperial crown and flanked symmetrically by sprays of laurel and oak tied with a ribbon bow at the base, above a Tudor rose flanked by a shamrock and thistle. The circumferential legend BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID:DEF: runs around the periphery within a beaded border. |
