Obverse description Irregular octagonal flan struck from crude dies, displaying within a beaded inner circle the weight inscription rendered in cursive script: '9 dw' (pennyweights) to the left and 'gr / 16' (grains) to the right, denoting the coin's silver weight of 9 pennyweights and 16 grains. The field is plain and unadorned, consistent with the emergency nature of this siege coinage. The lettering is hand-engraved in an informal cursive style, characteristic of the Inchiquin Money produced during the Confederate Ireland period. No royal portrait or heraldic device is present, the denomination being established solely by the stamped weight.
