| Reverse description | Two peacocks rendered in elegant profile occupy the central field, one standing upright with its long, intricately detailed tail feathers sweeping across the lower right, the other posed beside it with head lowered amid flowering blossoms in a distinctly Japanese decorative style. A butterfly motif appears at the top of the field between the two birds, and additional floral sprigs frame the composition on both sides. The inscription ROYAL WEDDING is prominently displayed in two lines in the lower centre of the field, with the fineness mark 999.9 above the denomination 1/2 oz. Au. and · CROWN · along the lower border. The surrounding legend PRINCE NARUHITO · PRINCESS MASAKO arcs around the upper periphery, all in raised Latin capitals. |
