| Opis awersu | The obverse features the laureate and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as modelled by Mary Gillick. The Queen's hair is elegantly styled with a laurel wreath, and the portrait is rendered in fine relief against a smooth field. A continuous legend in Latin script encircles the effigy along the periphery, reading '+ QUEEN·ELIZABETH·THE·SECOND', with the engraver's initials 'M.G.' discreetly positioned below the truncation. The design is bordered by a fine dentilated rim. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse displays the crowned Southern Rhodesian shield of arms at centre, surmounted by a Tudor crown in high relief. The upper half of the shield bears three passant lions, while the lower half features a decorative floral or foliate device. To the left of the shield appears the royal cypher 'E II' and to the right the letter 'R', flanked by stylised supporters. The peripheral legend reads '·SOUTHERN·1954·RHODESIA' along the upper arc, with '·HALF CROWN·' along the lower arc, all within a dentilated border. |
