Behind them, the nose and propeller of a Supermarine Spitfire aircraft extend across the upper right field. The large numeral '85' dominates the upper portion of the design. The inscription BATTLE OF BRITAIN arcs along the left periphery, while the commemorative dates 1940 · 2025 · curve along the lower right border.
