Obverse description Central field dominated by a large, bold royal cipher 'W' surmounted by the Dutch royal crown, rendered in high relief. The date is divided by the monogram, with the first two numerals to the lower left and the final two to the lower right of the 'W'. The design is unbordered, set against a plain field, reflecting the austere Neo-Classical style characteristic of Dutch coinage under King Willem II.
