| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a plain and unadorned design featuring the denomination expressed as a fraction in the central field. The inscription 1/2 CENT is boldly struck with minimal surrounding detail, leaving the field largely open. This simplified treatment is consistent with the experimental and utilitarian nature of a pattern strike intended to test proposed denominational designs for potential circulation coinage. |

Oscar I ascended the Swedish throne in 1844, and early in his reign the mint explored decimal coinage denominations that would not be formally adopted until decades later. This piece is a pattern — it never entered circulation and was struck to evaluate a proposed fractional system that ultimately went nowhere in 1844.
SM#157 is sparsely documented, and surviving examples are rarely offered.
