Obverse description The obverse features a central round perforation surrounded by an ornate scrollwork frame composed of two symmetrical foliate volutes flanking the hole. Surmounting the frame at the top is a finely detailed Imperial State Crown. The circular legend reads EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR, distributed around the upper periphery, while the denomination HALF CENT appears in two lines below the central hole. The field is plain, and the coin is bordered by a fine toothed or beaded rim.
