| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned and draped effigy of King Edward VII, wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state with ornamental clasp visible at the truncation. The portrait, engraved by G.W. de Saulles, is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the crown's jewelled arches and beaded circlet. The circular legend reads EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR around the upper periphery, with the engraver's initials DES present at the lower truncation. The field is bounded by a toothed border. |
