Reverse description The large fractional numeral 1/2 occupies the centre of the coin within a beaded inner circle, with the word HALF CENT inscribed along the lower arc outside the beaded circle. The issuer's name STRAITS SETTLEMENTS arcs around the upper portion of the legend outside the beaded circle, flanked by raised dots serving as stops. The four-digit date 1908 is positioned vertically along the right side between the beaded circle and the toothed outer border, reading upward.
