The lettering is arranged in sweeping diagonal lines across the flan, a layout typical of Jawi-influenced calligraphic coinage produced for the Straits Settlements. The field is unadorned save for the inscription, with a milled border running around the rim. The engraving is robust and legible, suited to circulation in a multilingual mercantile community. |
