Reverse description Saint George, clad in armour and depicted as a mounted knight, charges to the right on a rearing horse, driving a lance downward to slay the dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The scene fills the central field in a dynamic, energetic composition characteristic of Renaissance Italian hammered coinage. A Latin circular legend naming the saint runs along the periphery, enclosed within a beaded border. The dragon is rendered at lower right, its body coiled beneath the horse.
