| Reverse description | Ornate cross composed of four interlocked crowned script monograms EL (for Ernest Ludwig), arranged symmetrically around a central Roman numeral V denoting the denomination of 5 (Gulden). Small decorative rosettes appear in the angles between the arms of the cross. The date 1733 is inscribed in the lower exergue beneath the cross. The reverse motto OCCULTA PATEBUNT (meaning 'hidden things shall be revealed') runs along the upper periphery as a partial legend, with the continuation EL EL EL EL V completing the inscription around the coin. |
