The circular Latin legend DVX SAB ET MONTISF PRINC PED surrounds the design along the periphery, proclaiming Charles Emmanuel's titles as Duke of Savoy and Monferrato and Prince of Piedmont. The composition is simple and heraldic, consistent with the small-denomination copper coinage of the period. |
