| Reverse description | Central field displays a raised circular cartouche enclosing the fraction ½ rendered in large Eastern Arabic numerals, denoting the denomination of one-half buqsha. Surrounding the cartouche, the Shahada and mint information are inscribed in bold Arabic calligraphy, radiating across the field toward the milled rim. Small decorative star or pellet devices punctuate the legend at intervals. The inscription records the Islamic profession of faith, the denomination, the mint city of Sana’a, and the Hijri year 1382. The style is consistent with the first republican coinage issues of the Yemen Arab Republic. |
