Obverse description The Venezuelan national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a sheaf of wheat, crossed flags and weapons, and a running horse, surmounted by an elaborate wreath of tropical foliage and fruits. The shield is flanked by olive and palm branches tied at the base with a ribbon inscribed LIBERTAD, with crossed ribbons reading 19 DE ABRIL 810 and 5 DE JULIO 1811. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA runs along the upper periphery, while the lower exergue bears the weight, date, and fineness inscription GR.2.500 • [date] • LEI 835. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
