| Obverse description | Central quartered shield displaying the arms of France (fleurs-de-lis) in the first and fourth quarters, and the arms of Dauphiné (a dolphin) in the second and third quarters, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield is rendered in a Gothic heraldic style characteristic of mid-15th century French feudal coinage. A circular Latin legend in uncial lettering surrounds the central device, reading the ruler's title. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammered medieval production. |

| Obverse lettering | LVDOVICVS DPHS VIEnESIS (Translation: Louis, Dauphin of Viennois.) |
| Reverse description | A plain cross pattée divides the field into four quarters, with a fleur-de-lis in the second quarter (upper right) and a dolphin in the third quarter (lower left), the remaining quarters being plain. The cross extends to the beaded inner circle, following the standard mise-en-page of Dauphiné billon coinage. A circular Latin legend in uncial lettering occupies the outer field, invoking a benediction in the traditional medieval formula. The overall composition reflects the conventional reverse type of French feudal blancs of this period. |
